Join us Wednesday, September 16, for the first Storyteller Sessions at The Sea House, presented by Seatrees in collaboration with Sessions Surf Festival, featuring a range of storytellers from artist-shaper Donald Brink, Seatrees founder Michael Stewart, sailors and filmmakers Kelly Foote and Hunter Hulett and more. The evening includes an original Donald Brink art exhibit and surfboard quiver, plus a screening of Drift Theory's latest production. Chris Dodds of SURFER Magazine will interview the guests live, diving into their backgrounds and their unique stories of lives forged from the sea. A Journey of Sustainable Shaping with Donald Brink Brink is one of the most distinctively talented surfboard craftsmen in the game today. From raw blank to foiling his own fins — works of art unto themselves — to painting, glassing, and sanding in his little workshop, he does it all. And he does it his way. Documenting a Life at Sea with Kelly Foote & Hunter Hulett Kelly has sailed and delivered 22 vessels without loss, crossed three oceans, and just completed a 4,500-mile delivery passage. He has captained the boats behind internationally recognized surf films — Ugly Duckling, Calypte — with Torren Martyn, as well as the original series Not by Chance, which features some of the most celebrated surfboard shapers and surfers of our time. Kelly is the rare founder who is simultaneously the operator, the creative director, and the main character of his own brand story. Hunter leads operations and brand strategy, building the commercial infrastructure underneath the Drift Theory voyages. Together, Kelly and Hunter have built a company where the media engine and the charter product are inseparable — and the impact of each trip creates ripples of inspiration that reach large audiences. Reforesting the Ocean through Brand Impact with Michael Stewart Michael Stewart is the co-founder of Seatrees and a serial "ecopreneur" whose love of the ocean, surfing, and coastal stewardship have inspired him to seek solutions for solving both the climate & biodiversity crisis, that are threatening our Ocean planet's life support system. As co-founder and chief-storyteller of Seatrees, Michael leads efforts to channel global support into verified, science-based coastal restoration —funding projects that restore kelp, mangroves, and coral reefs while delivering measurable biodiversity and community benefits. -------------------------- Seatrees is stoked to bring the Sessions community together for an evening centered around connection, culture, and giving back to the coast.
